A Three-Year Anniversary Worth Celebrating: Investing in My Health

Three years. That’s how long it’s been since I’ve missed a scheduled weight training workout. While I’m proud of that streak, this isn’t about how “awesome” I am. (Though I might whisper it to my wife every night while she’s sleeping… 😆).

 

This milestone is really about how simple health and fitness can become once it turns into a habit.

Think about brushing your teeth. Do you question whether you’ll brush them each day? Of course not—it’s automatic. That’s exactly how working out and eating well have become for me. It’s not a chore or something I have to overthink. It’s simply a part of my life now.

When you first start, it might feel overwhelming. But I promise, with each day, it gets easier. That’s the power of habits—they snowball, and momentum builds. Before you know it, you’re moving better, feeling better, sleeping better, and maybe even hearing a few compliments along the way.

And guess what? It should be easy. A healthy lifestyle shouldn’t feel like a burden. It shouldn’t interfere with your life—it should complement it.

For me, health and fitness are about something bigger than myself. I love my wife. I love my family. I love the life we’ve built together. Staying strong, mobile, and energetic allows me to keep enjoying all of it for as long as possible.

Now, I know that someday, I’ll miss a workout. And when that day comes? Oh well. One missed workout won’t undo three years of consistency. Just like with financial investments, it’s about showing up consistently over time, not hitting it perfectly every single time.
