The Little Things Take Care of the Big Things

Happy Mindset Monday… of a beautiful holiday weekend! 😎

I have a grandchild to love up today, so I’m going to make this short and sweet… just like him!

The little things take care of the big things!

That is correct: The little things take care of the big things. So let’s not over complicate this health and fitness stuff.

Eat mostly unprocessed food.

Don’t eat crap that comes in a bag. 85% of your food should come from items that have one ingredient, such as lettuce, chicken, etc. If you can’t read the crazy scientific names on the ingredients list, don’t eat it.

Lift weights.

Yes, lift heavy weights to build your body up. We don’t need to tear it down. We want to build our bodies up! This will build your metabolism. And a more robust metabolism will make all of your other health and fitness goals easier to achieve – even weight loss.

Move your freaking body.

Just walk. Again, don’t over complicate this. You don’t need to climb Mount Everest. You don’t need to take 7 CrossFit classes in a week. Just go for walks. 8 to 10,000 steps a day.

Drink water

Not fizzy water. Water. It’s simple. Water. Again, don’t over complicate this.

Prioritize rest and recovery

Get 7 to 8 hours of sleep at night. And keep your stress at a minimum.

Do these “little things” and the big things will take care of themselves.

You will lose body fat

You’ll become healthier.

You’ll move better.

You’ll move yourself further away from obesity You will move yourself further away from diabetes.

You will move yourself further away from stroke.

You will move yourself further away from cardiovascular disease.

You will sleep better.

Your skin, hair, nails will get better.

Your libido will increase.

Better mood.

And you will simply become more vibrant.

One more time…

The little things take care of the big things!
